As the world is evolving, it has become more important for its inhabitants to preserve it. Individuals are, therefore, taking steps to become more energy-efficient, starting with their homes. As part of the Government’s contribution to this, a scheme is going to be implemented that would help homeowners afford the energy-efficient homes and Voltera is proud to be an approved supplier.

About The Green Homes Grant

The Green Homes Grant is a scheme dedicated to assisting eligible homeowners in England to make environmentally-friendly improvements to their home. Homeowners who qualify will be given a voucher that will take care of certain projects such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • installing loft
  • floor and wall insulation
  • double-glazing

The voucher is expected to be worth £5,000 with the government setting aside about £2 billion for the green home updates. These vouchers are supposed to help with some or even all of the cost of making these improvements. There are still considerations on what other improvement projects to add to the list.

The scheme is expected to be up and running in September, and you’ll have to apply to be considered eligible or not. Apart from promoting energy-efficiency, the grant is supposed to boost the economy as well by creating jobs. The grant applies to only England and so homeowners in Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.
